Propolis is also known as Bee Glue. Bees make propolis by collecting tree resin, mixing it with beeswax and their saliva; which contains important enzymes. They utilize propolis in the hive to protect it from disease, patch any holes in their "home" and to prevent dead pests, who have entered their hive from destroying it.
Humans use propolis for a wide variety of illnesses, skin issues, and to strengthen their immune systems. In the USA, the FDA has not approved propolis for any of the above and below mentioned uses. Propolis should not be used by people who are allergic to bees or any bee products. Always test new products topically for a potential allergic reaction. Start slowly with only a few drops to ensure you tolerate it.
Our Propolis Extract is made with cleanly harvested propolis and vegetable glycerin. We do not use alcohol. It is strained, not filtered; which means you will see small bits of propolis in the extract.
It is often used topically using a few drops on the skin, then cover to keep clean. It is also used orally, in people who are not allergic. Put the desired amount of drops into a small amount of water, tea or juice and be sure to drink the entire amount. Propolis has a strong flavor and can be bitter tasting.
